PlayBlog The Kennedy Center's "Theater Look-in" to Follies, Featuring Bernadette Peters, Elaine Paige (Video) Follies cast members Bernadette Peters, Jan Maxwell, Danny Burstein, Ron Raines and Elaine Paige sat down with moderator Dwight Blocker Bowers for a Kennedy Center presentation entitled "Theater Look-in: Follies" to discuss the production that officially opened May 21 at the Kennedy Center.

Follies, according to Kennedy Center, "is a bittersweet look at the follies of youth seen through the eyes of age and experience. When former members of the 'Weismann's Follies' reunite on the eve of their theater's demolition, two couples remember their glorious past and face the harsher realities of the present. In the crumbling glamour of the theater, the shadows of their younger selves remind them of the complicated steps they've danced—both on the stage and throughout their lives."

Here, the cast talks about how they got involved with the production, their character interpretations and the challenge of dance in the Stephen Sondheim musical.

The Kennedy Center production of Follies has performances running through June 19 at the Eisenhower Theater. Signature Theatre artistic director Eric Schaeffer directs the musical with choreography by Warren Carlyle.
