Based on Jeraldine Saunders' novel "The Love Boats," the stage musical will use songs that were popular during the television series' run from 1977-1986. The creative team has not been announced.
Author Saunders, who inspired the character of cruise director Julie McCoy, is producing along with Jacobsen International, Kevin Jacobsen and David Jacobsen.
The stage production, titled The Love Boats, will restore some of Saunders' more risque details from the novel that were removed for television audiences.
