News THE SCREENING ROOM: Evita's Elena Roger Sings "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" (Video) Argentine actress Elena Roger will make her Broadway debut in the upcoming revival of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, which is scheduled to begin previews March 12, prior to an official opening April 5, at the Marquis Theatre.

The production, directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Michael Grandage, opened at London's Adelphi Theatre in June 2006 starring Roger in the title role. Here is a clip of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from her West End performance.

Joining Roger in Evita  on Broadway are Grammy winner Ricky Martin (Les Miserables) as Che, Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris (Assasins, Sweeney Todd) as Juan Perón, Max von Essen (Dance of the Vampires, Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar) as Magaldi and Rachel Potter (The Addams Family) as the Mistress. Christina DeCicco (Sister Act) will be alternate for Eva Perón.

Evita has music by Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Rice. The original Broadway production earned the 1980 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Book, Best Actress, Best Featured Actor and Best Direction.
