News THE SCREENING ROOM: Jesus Christ Superstar's Josh Young Performs "Superstar" On "The View" Tony Award nominee Josh Young, who stars as Judas in the Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, appeared on the May 24 installment of "The View."

Young and the cast of the Tony-nominated revival performed Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's "Superstar."

Young garnered critical praise and a 2012 Best Featured Actor in a Musical Tony Award nomination for his performance in Superstar. His character sings such songs as "Heaven On Their Minds," "Strange Thing Mystifying" and "John 19:41."

Directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys, The Who's Tommy), Jesus Christ Superstar was a critical hit at the Stratford Festival in Ontario, where it played an extended, sold-out run last summer. It transferred to the La Jolla Playhouse for an engagement through Dec. 31. Superstar officially opened on Broadway March 22 at the Neil Simon Theatre. Andrew Lloyd Webber (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics) penned the driving rock opera about the final days of Christ, which  premiered on Broadway in 1971.
