LAST CHANCE→ Broadway's most recent revival of The Heiress, starring Jessica Chastain, ends its limited engagement. In the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, the usually radiant Hollywood star plays Catherine Sloper, a dowdy spinster under the thumb of her hypercritical and very wealthy father (David Strathairn). A comely suitor ("Downtown Abbey" star Dan Stevens) unexpectedly takes a liking to the shy Catherine. Are his motives pure or is his affection driven by dollar signs? PREVIEWS→ Danny Burstein and Sarah Paulson star in a revival of Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning two-hander, Talley's Folly. Burstein (fresh from the acclaimed revival of Golden Boy) and Paulson (fresh from the celebrated FX series "American Horror Story") play Matt and Sally, two very different people examining their future in post-WWII small-town Missouri. Sunday, February 10 GO (Los Angeles)→ Like your Tony winners "unplugged"? Then check out Spring Awakening star John Gallagher, Jr.'s concert with singer-songwriters Daniel Zaitchik, Fay Wolf and Rachel Cantu. GO→ The Tony-winning musical In the Heights comes home to its namesake neighborhood with a one-night-only concert featuring most of the show's original Broadway cast. Led by its creator and star, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the concert also features Christopher Jackson, Karen Olivo, Mandy Gonzalez, Robin De Jesus, Janet Dacal, Andrea Burns and Olga Merediz. PREVIEWS→ Bill Irwin and David Shiner, two of the greatest modern theatrical clowns, reunite for Old Hats, a leap into one of the theatre's oldest forms. The pair previously teamed on Broadway to create the Tony Award-winning Fool Moon. Their new show for Off-Broadway's Signature Theatre promises a fresh take on the pratfalls, magic play, miming and sight gags that made them masters of the art form. Officially opens March 4. Wednesday, February 13
GO (FREE)→ A collection of singers, artists and scholars — including Grammy winner Judy Collins and Tony nominees André De Shields and Stephen Lang — band together to present a collection of stories about Abraham Lincoln called The Civil War in Words and Music. The free reading takes place at The Cooper Union's Great Hall, the site of Lincoln's 1860 "Right Makes Might" speech. Collins will sing several songs known to be Lincoln favorites (including "Beautiful Dreamer") while Lang and De Shields portray Lincoln and abolitionist Frederick Douglass in a dramatic reading constructed from historical documents. OPENING (LONDON)→ Tony winner Betty Buckley stars in the British premiere of Dear World, the 1969 Jerry Herman musical about Aurelia (aka the Madwoman of Chaillot), a deranged Parisian countess who takes on a collection of corrupt businessmen who are exploiting the environment. GO→ Patti LuPone once again returns to Studio 54's swanky basement, 54 Below, for Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda…played that part, the two-time Tony winner's love letter to the greatest musical theatre roles she never got to play. Expect songs from shows like Hair, Bye Bye Birdie, Oklahoma!, Funny Girl, West Side Story, etc. The Valentine's Day set promises a special three-course pre-fixe menu. Friday, February 15
PREVIEWS→ Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network") debuts and stars in his second play for Off-Broadway's Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, The Revisionist. The actor-writer appears opposite Vanessa Redgrave in the play about a young writer who meets up with a distant cousin in Poland to learn about his roots. Officially opens Feb. 21. GO→ Lincoln Center's American Songbook series continues with a solo performance by Kristin Chenoweth. This will be the first public New York appearance for the Tony winner after last year's notorious accident on set of CBS's "The Good Wife" that left her with a cracked nose, fractured skull and bruised ribs! After some much needed R&R, the pint-sized powerhouse is back doing what she does best — performing! — and she promises to take on The Dames of Broadway…All of 'Em!!
