News Theater for the New City Holds Annual "Love n' Courage Benefit" Feb. 13 The Theater for the New City, the Off-Broadway presenting house in the East Village, will offer is third annual Love n' Courage Benefit on Feb. 13.

The evening of dinner, song and dancing will be hosted by Charles Busch and Julie Halston. David Brunetti is scheduled to perform the songs of Yip Harburg and the spirit of New Orleans will be saluted with a performance by cabaret singer Mary Cleere Haran and Troi Bechet and her Quartet. Proceeds wil benefit TFNC's Emerging Playwrights Program with a portion of the tickets benefiting Southern Rep, a regional theatre in New Orleans. TFNC is run by artistic director and co-founder Crystal Field. It has produced hundreds of plays, including new works by Maria Irene Fornes, Richard Foreman, Charles Busch and Sam Shepard. (It famously commissioned Buried Child.)
