News There Will Be More "Sex and the City"; Film Sequel Planned Stage and screen actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Tony Award winner Cynthia Nixon have all signed on to appear in the sequel to the blockbuster "Sex and the City" film.

Variety reports that Michael Patrick King is also on board to write and direct "Sex and the City 2," which will be produced by King, John Melfi and actress Parker. No starting date has been announced for the New Line Film, although New Line president Toby Emmerich is hoping for a release in summer 2010.

The initial "Sex and the City" film — based on the hit HBO series — brought in $152 million domestically and $260 million more internationally. The film opened in May 2008.
