Kenneth Lonergan's hit play, This is Our Youth, returns to the Garrick Theatre with a fresh cast — Kieran Culkin, Colin Hanks and Alison Lohman — with previews beginning Nov. 13 and a press night on Nov. 20.
This comedy about New York rich kids enjoyed a sellout run when it opened in the West End earlier this year with Hayden Christensen, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anna Paquin, followed by Casey Affleck, Matt Damon and Summer Phoenix.
It returns in November with another young, hip and well-connected cast, directed by Laurence Boswell, and there are plans for new casts every eight weeks to keep the play fresh and in the public eye.
Kieran Culkin (Warren) is currently a huge name in the U.S., thanks to his award-winning lead performances in two major movies just released: "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys" produced by Jodie Foster, and "Igby Goes Down" opposite Claire Danes and Susan Sarandon (for which he is hotly tipped for an Oscar). He is already known to British film audiences here for his central performances in "The Cider House Rules," "The Mighty" and "She's All That" and as a child star in "Father of the Bride" and "Home Alone" with his brother Macaulay.
Colin Hanks (Dennis), son of Tom Hanks, is already well known internationally for his lead role in the popular high school TV drama "Roswell" (shown in the UK on C4). He is now establishing a major movie career with leads in the recent "Orange County" and "Get Over It." He has also been seen here in Dreamworks' "Band of Brothers."
Alison Lohman (Jessica) is tipped to become a star on the back of her astounding debut feature performance in Peter Kosminky's "White Oleander" opposite Michelle Pfeiffer and Renee Zellweger. She has just completed filming the lead in Ridley Scott's new film "Matchstick Men."
