Davidson, costume designer Jane Greenwood, lighting designer Mark McCullough, sound designer Peter Fitzgerald, hair and wig designer Tom Watson and special effects designer Gregory Meeh and projection designer Sven Ortel. According to the producers, "Rebecca is the story of Maxim de Winter, his new wife (known only as 'I') and Mrs. Danvers, the controlling and manipulative housekeeper of Maxim's West Country estate of Manderley — where the memory of his first wife, the glamorous and mysterious Rebecca, still casts a shadow."

The Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th Street) is currently home to A Streetcar Named Desire.

"Rebecca," which also inspired a 1940 Academy Award-winning film by Alfred Hitchcock, is a suspense novel by British writer du Maurier that begins with the famous line, "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again." (Yes, the line is sung in the musical.)

Rebecca had its world premiere in 2006 by Vereinigte Buhnen Wien at the Raimund Theater in Vienna, where it played for more than three years. Productions have also played Budapest, Hungary; Helsinki, Finland; Stuttgart, Germany; St. Gallen, Switzerland and at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo.
