News TKTS Discount Theatre Tickets Booth Will Reopen at South Street Seaport July 5 The South Street Seaport TKTS Discount Booth will reopen at a temporary location July 5 at 11 AM.

This location, at the corner of Fulton and South Streets, will house the discount theatre booth while the permanent location in the Seaport Marketplace at the corner of Front and John Streets is being renovated. TKTS Seaport has been closed since it was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy last October.

TKTS Downtown Manhattan offers same-day tickets for evening performances and next-day tickets for matinee performances of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows at up to 50 percent off full price. Operating hours for TKTS Seaport at Fulton and South Street are  Monday-Saturday from 11 AM-6 PM and Sunday from 11 AM-4 PM.

This temporary location is part of the Seaport's SEE/CHANGE Summer Program which is offering retail, dining and cultural offerings in an effort to help revitalize the local community.

"We're thrilled to again serve theatregoers living and working in Downtown Manhattan," TDF's managing director Michael Naumann said in a statement. "We felt that we owed it to the community to be back for them this summer. The rebuilding of our permanent location was taking longer than we had hoped, and so this temporary booth, just steps away at Fulton and South Streets, was the perfect solution."

TKTS is operated by Theatre Development Fund (TDF), a not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. TKTS opened June 25, 1973, and has distributed over 58.5 million tickets to Broadway, Off-Broadway, music and dance events since it first opened for business. Theatre Development operates two other TKTS Booths: The main TKTS Booth, which just celebrated 40 years in Times Square, and a satellite TKTS Booth in Downtown Brooklyn at 1 MetroTech Center.

Theatregoers can see in advance what shows are up for sale at TKTS by downloading the free TKTS app at tdf.org/tktsapp or see online at tdf.org/tktslive. More information about TKTS can be found by visiting tdf.org.
