Machine Full will present, Dec. 1-20 at HERE, An Invisible Hand, an evening of 15 monologues by Tom Gilroy, who also directs.
The "invisible hand" of the title is money, a motivating factor which influences the actions of all 15 characters. Gilroy examines people as they decide whom to work for, to befriend, to sue and to sleep with -- all for various manifest reasons and one unspoken one.
The cast features a variety of names from stage, film and television. David Lansbury has appeared at Lincoln Center Theatre in Pride's Crossing and Hapgood. Catherine Kellner's stage credits include Minutes from the Blue Route. Harold Perrineau acted in Avenue X at Playwrights Horizons, and, on film, in "Smoke."
Other cast member include Todd Colby, Ron Crawford, Guillermo Diaz, Hazelle Goodman, Diane Kagan, Katrina Lantz, Maggie Low, Christopher Rossi, Nick Sandow, Andrew Vandusen, John Ventimiglia and Jason Weinberg.
Gilroy co-founded Machine Full and has written many of its productions, including A Candle in the Window and Halcion Days. For information, call (212) 647-0202.
