News Tom Hewitt Is Long John Silver in Treasure Island, Opening March 5 in Brooklyn Tony Award nominee Tom Hewitt captains B.H. Barry’s stage adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson adventure classic Treasure Island, which officially opens March 5 at the Irondale Center in Brooklyn.

Barry, a veteran Tony Award-winning fight director of such shows as The Life, City of Angels and An Inspector Calls, directs his adaptation of the work, which is co-authored by Vernon Morris. Treasure Island began previews Feb. 15 and will sail on through March 26.

In addition to Hewitt (Rocky Horror, Dracula, The Lion King) as Captain Long John Silver, the cast includes Noah Galvin (The Burnt Part Boys) as young Jim Hawkins, Steve Blanchard (Beauty and the Beast) as Smollett, Drama Desk nominee Rocco Sisto (Quills) as Dr. Livesey and Kenneth Tigar (Translations) as Squire Trelawney.

Treasure Island also features John Ahlin (Waiting for Godot, Journey's End), Tom Beckett (Epic Proportions), Rod Brogan (Mauritius), Josh Clayton ("Ghost Town"), Michael Gabriel Goodfriend ("Helter Skelter"), Ken Schatz ("Finding Graceland") and Philip Willingham.

The production has scenic design by Tony Straiges, lighting design by Stewart Wagner, sound design by Will Pickens, effects by Gregory Meeh and musical direction by Ken Schatz.
