News Tommy Tune Will Receive Norton Lifetime Achievement Award Nine-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune will be presented with the 30th Anniversary Elliot Norton Lifetime Achievement Award during the May 21 Boston theatre awards ceremony at the Paramount Center.

The veteran entertainer-director-choreographer will also perform as part of the 7 PM awards ceremony that recognizes achievement in the greater Boston theatre community.

The evening also marks the 30th anniversary of the Norton Awards, named in honor of the late Boston theatre critic.

The Norton Award nominations will be announced April 15. Tickets to the ceremony are now on sale.

A nine-time Tony Award winner, director-choreographer-actor Tune has helped create such Broadway shows as Nine, My One & Only, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, The Will Rogers Follies and Grand Hotel. He helmed Off-Broadway's The Club and Cloud Nine, and he spent two years starring in the Las Vegas production of the spectacular EFX at the MGM Grand Hotel. Tune was seen in the 2006 national tour of Dr. Dolittle, and helmed the musical The Turn of the Century at the Goodman Theatre in fall 2008. He is also at work on a new musical about 1970s disco Studio 54.
