News Tony Winner Laurence Fishburne Joins Untitled ABC Pilot, Starring Anthony Anderson Tony Award winner Laurence Fishburne has signed on for ABC's untitled pilot starring Anthony Anderson, according to Deadline.com.

The project, from ABC Studios, Cinema Gypsy and Principato Young, is written by Kenya Barris and is loosely based on his personal experiences.

Anderson will play an upper-middle-class black man who "struggles to raise his children with some sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father and his own assimilated, color-blind kids." Fishburne will play Anderson's father.

Fishburne won a 1992 Tony Award for his performance in Two Trains Running and was Tony-nominated for Thurgood. He has also been seen on Broadway in The Lion in the Winter.
