Directed by Justin Chadwick, the pilot focuses on wealth and corruption among America's elite. The show follows American mogul and patriarch James Castman (Gleeson), who runs a media empire.

Lane will play Gordon McCarren, a reporter for VistaCorp’s New York Herald, whose job security is precarious.

Lane, a Tony winner for The Producers and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, recently starred in The Nance, receiving his fourth Tony nomination. His stage credits also include The Addams Family, Waiting for Godot, November, Butley, The Odd Couple, The Frogs and Guys and Dolls. He has performed in "The Birdcage," "30 Rock" and "Sex and the City."

Lane received Emmy nominations for both drama and comedy for his recurring roles on "The Good Wife" and "Modern Family."
