News Tony Winner Viola Davis Lands Role in ABC Drama Pilot "How To Get Away With Murder" Two-time Tony Award winner Viola Davis has been cast as the lead of the ABC drama pilot "How To Get Away With Murder," according to Deadline.com.

The project, from ABC Studios and Shondaland, is written by Peter Nowalk and is described as a "sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller that centers on ambitious law students and their brilliant and mysterious criminal defense professor (Davis) who become entangled in a murder plot that could rock their entire university and change the course of their lives."

Nowalk is executive producing alongside Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers.

Davis received Tony Awards for her performances in Fences and King Hedley II. She was Tony-nominated for her performance in Seven Guitars.
