News Top Three "American Idol" Finalists Revealed; Contestants Share Their Thoughts And then there were three. The Top 3 finalists for this year's "American Idol" competition were named during the May 2 broadcast of Fox's singing competition.

Those competing for the "American Idol" crown now include Candice Glover, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller. (Amber Holcomb, who received the least number of votes for the past two weeks of the competition, was eliminated from the competition.)

The three finalists will head to their respective hometowns for a special homecoming this weekend. Upon hearing the news, the singers revealed what they’re most looking forward to.

Glover said, “I’m mostly looking forward to seeing firsthand what the support has been like at home, because I hear about it all the time. It would mean the world to make the Top 3, because that means everything I’ve worked for is finally falling into place.” Harrison said, “What I’m looking forward to most is being able to celebrate with my friends and family in my hometown and being able to hug each of them to thank them for supporting me.” Miller remarked, “Making the Top 3 means everything to me! I can’t wait to meet everyone who has supported me and got me this far in the competition.”

The May 8 broadcast, which begins at 8 PM ET, will feature footage from the three finalists returning to their hometowns. Each of the women will sing three songs: “Judges’ Choice”; “Jimmy’s Choice”; and “IDOL’s Choice.”

The May 9 program, which also begins at 8 PM ET, will reveal which two women will perform in the grand finale. The evening will also feature performances by Alicia Keys and Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina. Former "American Idol" contestants who have taken to Broadway after their stint on "Idol" include Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple), Clay Aiken (Spamalot), Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray), Frenchie Davis (Rent) and Jordin Sparks (In the Heights) as well as former "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (Chicago), among others.
