Scheduled to arrive in theatres Sept. 25, the remake of the iconic 1980 film features choreography and direction by Kevin Tancharoen. Writers Allison Burnett and Aline Brosh McKenna penned the screenplay.
As with the original, the 2009 "Fame" follows a group of talented young students throughout their four years at the High School for the Performing Arts in New York City.
The cast of "Fame" features Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally and Bebe Neuwirth as faculty members of the school.
Performing arts students include Kristy Flores as a dancer named Rosie, Paul Iacono as filmmaker Neil, Paul McGill a gay dancer named Kevin, Naturi Naughton as a classical pianist named Denise, Kay Panabaker as actress Jenny, Kherington Payne as ballerina Alice, Collins Pennie as an artist named Malik, Walter Perez as a musician named Victor and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle as Joy Moy.
