LA JOLLA, CA -- Guitar Lessons: The Springhill Singing Disaster by Karen Trott will open May 31 at the La Jolla Playhouse and run through June 28. The play, a West Coast premiere, is directed by Lonny Price and is written and performed by Trott. It was a recent Off-Broadway hit. A chronicle of Trott's comic adventures as an aspiring singer and actor over the past 30 years, Guitar Lessons was called "painfully funny" by the New York Times. "It's sure to strike responsive sparks in anyone who has ever muffed a job interview or fumbled through a school play."
Price directed the Encores! Concert production of Pal Joey starring Patti LuPone, Peter Gallagher and Bebe Neuwirth.
