Applegate will appear as part of the ensemble of the Tony-winning revival during the 2 PM matinee at the Ambassador Theatre. She begins rehearsals for her Broadway debut May 23.
The co-anchor's entire Chicago experience will be chronicled on "Good Day New York" in the coming days. "Good Day New York" airs in the tri-state area weekdays from 7-9 AM on FOX 5.
Chicago currently stars Bianca Marroquin as Roxie Hart, Nancy Lemenager as Velma Kelly, Jeff McCarthy as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Kecia Lewis-Evans as Matron "Mama" Morton.
Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.
