Potts stars in Diva as a forty-something actress "whose fiery diva attitude makes her a star in the hottest sitcom on television," according to a show summary. Her agent, a writer, a studio head and her co-stars all fill the Hollywood-based tale.
Kline (City of Angels, "Three's Company") and Potts ("Toy Story," "Ghostbusters") are joined in the cast by Todd Waring (The Real Thing), Patrick Fabian (Six Degrees of Separation national tour, "General Hospital"), Ian Lithgow (Boy Gets Girl, "Third Rock from the Sun") and Robert Farrior (The Blue Room, "CSI:Miami").
Playwright Gould knows of the backstage life of the television comedy having works o "Cybill," "Home Improvement," "Sunday Dinner" and "FM." He also wrote the feature films "Mr. 3000" and is at work on "Shrek 3."
Potts makes her Pasadena Playhouse debut having appeared on stage in Vagina Monologues, Educating Rita, A Little Night Music, Merchant of Venice, Love Letters, Effect of Gamma Rays, Cymbeline, Bus Stop and the national tour of Charley's Aunt. Her other credits include film work in "Pretty in Pink," "Who's Harry Crumb," "Crimes of Passion," "Breaking the Rules," "Heartaches" and the TV shows "Any Day Now," "Love and War," "Dangerous Minds," "Joan of Arcadia" and "Huff." The design team for Diva features Yael Pardess (scenic), Tom Ruzika (lighting), Jean-Pierre Dorléac (costume), Pierre Dupree (sound) and Austin Switzer (video production). The production stage manager is Jill Gold with Lea Chazin as assistant stage manager.
