Directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who is currently starring in Broadway's Stick Fly, the limited engagement continues through Feb. 19.
Jitney features Tony Award winner Chuck Cooper (The Life) as Becker, Tony Award nominee Anthony Chisholm (Radio Golf) as Fielding, James A. Williams (Radio Golf) as Doub, J. Bernard Calloway (Memphis) as Booster, Roslyn Ruff (Fences) as Rena, Brandon J. Dirden as Youngblood, Harvy Blanks as Shealy, Ray Anthony Thomas (Race) as Philmore and Allie Woods Jr. as Turnbo.
Jitney is the eighth play in Wilson’s ten-play cycle, which depicts the African-American experience in each decade of the 20th century.
Other members of the creative team include scenic designer Neil Patel, costume designer Karen Perry, lighting designer Rui Rita and sound designer Leon Rothenberg. The production features original music by Bill Sims Jr.
