News Two Soldiers Face The War at Dawn Oct. 11-30 in NYC A terrorist-stricken America is seen in the world premiere of Eric Alter's The War at Dawn, beginning performances Off-Broadway Oct. 11, at the Beckman Theatre Space at the American Theatre of Actors.

The future that Alter imagines is "America in crisis, battered by terrorist attacks, both at home and abroad," according to production notes. The "searing new drama" is presented by Apricot Sky Productions and directed by Rodney E. Reyes for a run through Oct. 30.

"Battered by attacks (including a nuclear explosion) inside its borders, America of 2010 is locked in a struggle to survive," according to production notes. "On the eve of being shipped out god-knows-where to do god-knows-what, two young soldiers, (one a draftee the other a gung-ho enlistee), stumble into a very private war where it's not a case of winning the battle, but rather simply surviving it."

The Off-Off-Broadway cast includes Miguel Emir, Morgan Parker, Hayden Roush and Sonia Tatninov.

Tickets are $16-$20. The ATA is at 314 W. 54th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. Opening night is Oct. 12. The performance schedule is Tuesday-Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday at 8 PM, Sunday at 2 PM.
