Cumming was most recently seen on Broadway in Cabaret, repeating his Tony-winning role as the Emcee.

Chenoweth was nominated this year as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance as Lily Garland. There is a tradition of Tony nominees hosting the awards the season they were nominated: Recent examples include Hugh Jackman, Nathan Lane and Glenn Close.
