After successful gigs as the sexy murderess Velma Kelly in the London, New York and Las Vegas productions of Chicago, Ute Lemper is back in Paris for her own one-woman-show. Lemper is now presenting her recital De Weimar A Paris at the Opera Comique for a limited engagement. This solo act, conceived by Lemper herself, will feature songs from the golden era of the Berlin cabaret. Lemper will also sing some French classics and of course, she will perform songs from her trademark roles in Cabaret and Chicago. Ute Lemper has been popular in France since her smash debut as Sally Bowles in Jerome Savary's Paris production of Cabaret, back in 1986. Since then, Lemper has been working a lot in France, doing films, concerts and several recordings. Next year, Lemper will start a world tour with a series of concerts focusing on the pop side of her career. The cross-over diva will then present brand new songs written by artists such as Tom Waits, Elvis Costello and Philip Glass. Of course, this tour will include France and Paris (with an appearance at the renowned Olympia).
