CHICAGO--Maybe vaudeville didn't die after all. Vaudeville Nights: Voice of the City, a new venture by Chicago's enterprising Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co., will open May 20 as a tribute to a once and future entertainment. The Wednesday-night series will showcase Chicago performers in a "madhouse atmosphere." In the spirit of those often raucous vaudeville shows, the rapid-fire bill of fare offers a line-up of 9 different acts, none more than 10 minutes long.
Featured artists will come from the Chicago Stunt Team, Curious Theatre Branch, National Pastime, A Red Orchid, The Blue Rider, Stage Left, and the Factory theatres.
