Vincent in Brixton was one of the best-reviewed plays at the National this year, and has now transferred to Wyndham's Theatre, where it is previewing, prior to its press night on Aug. 5. ,P> The play is set in Brixton, where the young Vincent Van Gogh spent several months as a lodger. At that stage he was not a full-time artist, but, as Wright's play shows, he was already demonstrating his unique talent.
Vincent in Brixton stars Jochum ten Haaf as the intense young man, and Claire Higgins as the landlady with whom he has an affair. It runs until Oct. 26, when it will be replaced by The Play What I Wrote, which returns to its original London home. —By Theatrenow
