Nicholas Wright’s Olivier Award-winning play was a hit at the National and then again when it transferred to Wyndham’s Theatre. It is currently playing in New York. Reliable green room sources say that the play — which describes the young Vincent van Gogh’s stay in London and his love affair with an older woman — is likely to return to the West End after its New York run.
The play is directed by Sir Richard Eyre, stars Clare Higgins and Jochum ten Haaf, the young Dutch actor who bears a striking resemblance to the doomed artist as a young man.
Playwright Nicholas Wright was recently appointed to the Board of the National Theatre.
