The von Trapp Children, the great-grandchildren of Baron and Maria von Trapp, the couple whose musical family inspired The Sound of Music, will make their New York stage debut next month.

The children — Sofia (17), Melanie (15), Amanda (14) and Justin (11) — will play two performances at the Lamb's Theatre on April 17. Show times are 2 and 7 PM. Concertgoers can expect to hear folk songs, classical pieces and tunes from Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. The youngsters will also share stories about their family and take questions from the audience.

The von Trapp Children first performed at their grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary in 1997. Since that time they have played the Sydney Opera House, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and the Bethlehem Musikfest. They have also released three recordings, including a Christmas album.

The Lamb's Theatre is located in Manhattan at 130 West 44th Street. Tickets, priced $35, $45 and $55, are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
