It may not be coming to the Roundabout Theatre Company this season, but Glimmer Brothers, the new play by Tony-winner Warren Leight, will see a stage this fall. The drama, which had a production at the Williamstown Theatre Festival this past summer, will play the Stony Point, NY, theatre Nov. 11-Dec. 5.
David Schwimmer and Jon Spencer starred in the Williamstown production, which played July 14-25. Spencer and Terry Beaver played Martin and Daniel Glimmer, twin brothers once united in their love of jazz but estranged since Daniel turned his back on both Martin and his love of music years before. When Martin lands in the hospital, his godson Jordan (Schwimmer) and Daniel's daughter Delia (Kim Raver) try to bring the two brothers back together. Scott Ellis directed.
Soon after the Williamstown gig, The Glimmer Brothers was mentioned as part of the 1999-2000 Roundabout line-up. However, Variety later reported that Leight withdrew the piece, saying he wanted to do some additional work on the play.
Penguin Repertory is located on Crickettown Road in Stony Point. Call (914) 786-2873 for information.
