With
Andrew Lloyd Webber again having three musicals on Broadway —
School of Rock, The Phantom of the Opera and
Cats — it seemed a good time to look back on two tributes to the award-winning composer from the ’80s.
The first tribute was part of the 1981 Royal Variety Show and featured performances by London's then-Evita, Stephanie Lawrence; Lloyd Webber's brother, cellist Julian Lloyd Webber; and Elaine Paige, who was, at the time, starring in Cats. Watch the tribute below:
