Westboro Baptist Church Pickets Outside Kristin Chenoweth Concert (Plus Photos) | Playbill

News Westboro Baptist Church Pickets Outside Kristin Chenoweth Concert (Plus Photos) The controversial Westboro Baptist Church protested the Oct. 2 Manhattan, KS, concert of Tony Award-winning Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth, sharing photos via their Twitter account as it took place. The group looked small, and the WBC urged followers that the "poor lil rebels need help badly."

Chenoweth is currently on tour and performed Oct. 2 at the McCain Auditorium in Manhattan, KS, where the religious group picketed between 6:45-7:30 PM.

The star of Wicked and On the Twentieth Century, who co-hosted the Tony Awards earlier this year, has long been an ally of the LGBT community alongside her faith, describing herself as a "non-judgmental, liberal Christian."

"NO baby, you are NOT Christian," stated the WBC flyer advertising the protest earlier on Oct. 2. "God save a blessed life; but you strayed for sin and vice! You made the f*gs a god, your future without hope," it continues.
