Shange penned the screenplay for the film, which is directed by Tyler and features Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, Loretta Devine, Kerry Washington, Janet Jackson, Kimberly Elise and Macy Gray.
The play follows seven women who “reveal themselves, their lives, loves, hardships, and ultimately their discovery of strength and love.” Lionsgate will release the film Nov. 5.
