News Wild Party's Julia Murney Sings at Free Unity Concert May 14 Singer-actress Julia Murney will lend her talents to the May 14 Unity Concert, part of "Cover the Uninsured Week."

Ben Rimalower, who recently directed the all-star Snoopy benefit concert, will helm this evening as well. Joining Murney onstage will be Grammy-winning salsa artist Jose Alberto, "Law & Order: SVU" star Mariska Hargitay, Comedy Central's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, the K-Company Dancers, producer-performer Jamie deRoy and Dr. Neal Baer. Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell recently joined the list of participants. In addition to Murney's performance of "Life of the Party," the evening will also include stories of uninsured people from around the country. Show time is 7 PM.

Julia Murney recently portrayed Florence in the all-star Chess benefit concert for The Actors' Fund of America and was also part of the all-star Children of Eden concert. She received a Drama Desk nomination for her work in Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party, and her other theatrical credits include Crimes of the Heart, Time and Again, A Class Act, Cloud 9, Snapshots and Mata Hari.

The Unity Concert will be held at Pace University's Michael Schimmel Theatre, located in lower Manhattan at Spruce Street. There is no charge for admission although reservations are required; call (917) 438-4636 or e-mail [email protected].
