Producer Alexander H. Cohen has optioned a new play by Eric Houston, Sweet Deliverance, with an eye toward Broadway in late fall. Though Cohen is currently out of town, a spokesperson from the David Rothenberg press office confirmed the news, saying that the play was a comedy-drama. Little further information is available on the show, which has yet to choose a director, cast or theatre.

Sweet Deliverance was workshopped in 1994 as part of Barter Theatre of Abingdon, VA's Early Stages program.

Niko Associates/Carl Pasbjerg will serve as General Managers on the project.
