McKellen told EW, "I think New York audiences are some of the brightest in the world, and certainly the most enthusiastic. So if they decide to come see it, then you really have a good time. I think this will be my last outing to Broadway, probably, so I might as well go out with a bang doing two plays in wonderful company!" McKellen, who won a Tony for his performance in Amadeus, has also presented Ian McKellen: Acting Shakespeare on Broadway. His British acting credits include work with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has performed in Macbeth, Othello, King Lear and The Seagull and been honored with the Olivier Award and the Evening Standard Award.
The two-time Oscar nominee's film work includes "The Lord of the Rings," "The Hobbit" and "X-Men."
