William Inge

The 35th anniversary William Inge Theater Festival will take place April 20-23 at the William Inge Center for the Arts in Kansas. Included in the line-up is a 50th anniversary production of Where’s Daddy? starring Barbara Dana from the original Broadway production, directed by Karen Carpenter.

Throughout the three day-program, the festival will host a series of theatre workshops and panels on playwriting, directing and acting, conducted by industry professionals; as well as A Conversation with Playwrights, an intimate discussion with past playwright honorees.

The Center is dedicated to nurturing and celebrating the achievements of playwrights and to culturally enriching the Kansas community, where Inge grew up. The Pulitzer Prize winner’s works include Picnic; Come Back, Little Sheba; Bus Stop; and Natural Affection, which all played on Broadway. He passed away in 1973.
