Based on Billy Wilder's film noir classic about a fading Hollywood silent-film star, Sunset Boulevard will run through July 29, with direction and choreography by Barry Ivan. Tom Helm is musical director.
The cast also features Matthew Scott (Joe Gillis), Walter Charles (Max), Amanda Rose (Betty Schaefer), Jeff Howell (Cecil B. DeMille) and David Perlman (Artie).
The ensemble features Denée Benton, Sal Bucci, Max Clayton, Sarah Ellis, Chandler Farren, Allison Griffith, Joe Jackson, Julia Johanos, Daniel Krell, Justin Lonesome, Trevor McQueen, Connor McRory, Kara Mikula, J. Alex Noble, Joel Robertson, Gabriella Sorrentino and Lauren Zapko.
Sunset Boulevard has music by Lloyd Webber with book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. It premiered in London in 1993 prior to arriving on Broadway in 1994. Sunset Boulevard earned Tony Awards for Best Score, Best Book, Best Scenic Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Actress (Glenn Close) and Best Musical.
Callaway was last seen on Broadway in The Look of Love. She made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, and she also took part in the anniversary concert of that musical. For her work in the musical Baby, she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and her other Broadway credits include The Three Musketeers, Miss Saigon and Cats.
