News Wooster Group's North Atlantic, with Frances McDormand, Begins Los Angeles Run Feb. 10 The Wooster Group revival of James Strahs' 1982 work North Atlantic makes its pre-New York bow Feb. 10 at Redcat in Los Angeles.

Elizabeth LeCompte directs the production that runs through Feb. 20. Following the L.A. run the Wooster Group will begin a three-year residency at the new Jerome Robbins Theater at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in Manhattan in March. North Atlantic will play NYC March 10-April 25.

The cast features Frances McDormand, Ari Fliakos, Scott Shepherd, Kate Valk, Steve Cuiffo, Koosil-ja Hwang, Paul Lazar, Zachary Oberzan, Jenny Seastone-Stern and Maura Tierney.

North Atlantic, according to press notes, "takes a satiric look at the role of the military and the growing influence of technology in American culture during the late Cold War period, after Vietnam and before the fall of the Berlin Wall. The story follows an international peacekeeping force on an aircraft carrier in the North Atlantic, tracing the cultural and sexual dynamics that rise to the fore as they carry out their top-secret mission."

Lighting is by Jennifer Tipton and the set is by Jim Clayburgh, with additional details by Jim Findlay and Ruud van den Akker.
