The co-production with Second Stage Theatre will open May 6 at the New Haven, Connecticut company's New Theater. Connie Grappo directs the staging set to run through May 22. (The work will play in New York in July as part of the New Plays Uptown series.) The Mystery Plays follows the intertwined retellings of two separate mysterious tragedies: "a train wreck in the Northeast corridor and a desperate expedition to find meaning in an incomprehensible crime in Oregon," a release states. Both chance events shed light on the other.
Creel is joined in the cast by Scott Ferrara (Henry IV - Parts I and II, Lincoln Center), Leslie Lyles (Roulette), Mark Margolis (Christmas in Naples, Williamstown Festival), Heather Mazur (The Violet Hour) and Peter Stadlen (Birdy).
