Proceeds from the 8 PM event will go directly to six specially selected high schools around the country, allowing them to "keep creative arts alive in a climate where theatre education is all too often underfunded."
Among the singers lending their voices to the cause are Davita Newell, Heidi Kole, Gillian Sheffler (The Wizard of Oz), Felicity Claire (Broadway's Mamma Mia!), Jessie Fahay, Martin Giannini (North Shore's Les Miz), Jennifer Mintzer (Lady of Copper, That's Andy), Jennifer Neale (Annie), Kevin Crewell (Spamalot, Jersey Boys), Anne Fraser Thomas, Eric Michael Krop, Kelly Schmidt and Shoshanna Richman (Fiddler on the Roof).
Mike Cuppulo, a familiar face at the city's top comedy clubs, will host the variety performance, which boasts the additional talents of comedians Cory Chappo, Greg Collett, Alex Neely, Tony Kelly, Art Brown, Johnny Blaze, Marc Adam Smith and Dillon Stevenson as well as actors Lee Solomon, Jessica Jennings and Jill Wurzburg.
Composer-lyricist Bobby Cronin serves as musical director/pianist for the evening.
The benefit will be held upstairs at Town Tavern (34 West 3rd Street at 6th Ave) in the West Village.
Tickets, priced $25, will be available at the door beginning at 7:30 PM. Admission includes free appetizers and $3 drinks all evening.
