La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment will present the Tony Award-winning musical Cats, featuring Broadway actor and YouTube sensation Todrick Hall as Rum Tum Tugger, beginning April 18, prior to an official opening April 19, in La Mirada, CA.

The musical, the fourth production in the company's 2013-14 season, features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and is based on "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" by T.S. Eliot.

Directed and choreographed by Dana Solimando with musical direction by John Glaudini, the cast also features Kelly Provart as Grizabella, Dane Wagner as Mr. Mistoffelees, Clent Bowers as Old Deuteronomy and Karl Warden as Munkustrap with Madison Mitchell, Chryssie Whitehead, Neil Dale, Nina Schreckengost, Colette Peters, Derek Lewis, Lauren Decierdo, Daniel Dawson, Brian Steven Shaw, Jamie Joseph, Steven Agdeppa, Melvin Ramsey, Hannah Simmons, Autumn Crockett, Jenna Wright, Jake Dupree and Tiffany Reid.

Performances will continue through May 11 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Cats, according to La Mirada, "tells the story, in song and dance, of the annual gathering of Jellicle cats at which time one special cat is selected to ascend to the Heaviside layer. A true musical theatre phenomenon, Cats opened at London's New London Theatre on May 11, 1981 and ran for a record-setting 21 years. Cats' London success was nearly matched on Broadway where it ran at the Winter Garden Theatre for just over 18 years."

Other members of the creative team include lighting designer Jean Yves Tessier, sound designer Josh Bessom, costume designer Christine Bogle, props coordinator Terry Hanrahan, associate director/choreographer Billy Johnstone and production stage manager Jill Gold. La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts is located at 14900 La Mirada Blvd. in La Mirada, CA. Talkbacks with the actors will be held April 23 and May 7.
