News Yul Brynner "King and I" Returning to Cinemas The Academy Award-winning 1956 film of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic "The King and I," starring Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr, will return to cinemas in 2016.

Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Twentieth Century Fox will present the special, two-day event, which is set for Aug. 28 and 30, 2016.

The screening promises to include a special featurette that will take you behind the scenes of Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical masterpiece with specially produced commentary from Turner Classic Movies.

Brynner, who created the role of The King of Siam on Broadway, is one of a handful of actors to with the Tony and Academy Award for playing the same role on stage and screen.

The Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II musical, based on the life of Anna Leonowens as well as Margaret Landon's 1944 novel "Anna and the King of Siam," includes classics such as "Hello Young Lovers," "I Whistle A Happy Tune," "Shall We Dance?" and "Getting To Know You."
