Long Wharf associate artistic director Eric Ting will stage the comedy about man's best female friend that will run through March 14 on the Long Wharf mainstage. An official opening has been set for Feb. 24. Ziemba (Curtains, Contact) portrays Kate in a cast that also features John Procaccino (Art, A Prayer for My Enemy) as Greg, Erica Sullivan (Trouble Tales for Boys and Girls) as Sylvia and Jacob Ming-Trent (Shrek) in the roles of Tom/Phyllis/Leslie.

"Sylvia, a lovable dog, would do anything for Greg. A constant companion, she loves him unconditionally and hangs on his every word. Greg would do anything for Sylvia, even staying home from work to spend time with her. Greg’s wife Kate, on the other hand, isn’t thrilled that Sylvia’s made herself so at home, let alone that she’s sleeping on Kate’s precious couch. Add the fact that Sylvia is played by a vivacious young woman and you view the relationship between a man and his best friend in a whole new way," according to Long Wharf press notes.

Designing Sylvia are Frank Alberino (set design), Ben Stanton (lighting design), Valerie Webster (costume design) and Jill BC DuBoff (sound design).

The Long Wharf Theatre is located at 222 Sargent Drive in New Haven, CT.
