Characters:
Pompey: [THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST] White male, early 80s. Retired vaudevillian who was marginally successful before the advent of the talking picture show. His independence and his friendship with Ollie, his partner for the past sixty-five years, are the only two things important to him.

Ollie: White male, early 80s. Recently deceased, retired vaudevillian who played the circuit with Pompey but never took comedy very seriously. He appears in this story, not as an apparition, but as a man, as he was before he died.

Marsha: [THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST] White woman, early to mid 40s. Pompey's daughter, a social worker who has taken on the quixotic task of trying to control an uncontrollable world.

J’Taurius: Also known as Jet, African American male, mid-teens. His life has taught him to be suspicious of everyone and everything. All he wants is to be a kid, but he already carries far more responsibility than any person in his age should be asked to shoulder.
