The Box Office Ambassador reports to the Box Office Manager and the Supervisor and is responsible for assisting guests with purchasing and upgrading tickets, providing general information and all inquiries related to our SUMMIT guests at the box office welcome desk.

This position requires the ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as being able to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

As the frontline for our one-of-a kind immersive experience Box Office Ambassadors must embody SUMMIT One Vanderbilt’s brand and service values through assisting guests from all over the world in their enjoyment of our experience and helping in creating memories they will cherish for a lifetime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a host by greeting and orienting guests, checking guest’s pre-purchased tickets, and allowing them entrance once their time has arrived.
  • Provide a high level of guest service by engaging guests, answering questions, resolving issues, making thoughtful recommendations, and identifying opportunities to personalize each experience.
  • Provide a vital resource for guests with a deep understanding of all ticket packages, policies, procedures, and possible discounts.
  • Through a personalized approach, assist guests interested in purchasing tickets with all aspects of their decision-making process.
  • Enhance guests’ experiences by informing them of all additional products and possible package upgrades.
  • Guide guests through the ticket purchasing process on all possible sales channels.
  • Manage the ticket-scanning process with skill, maintaining accurate ticket scans for all guests entering SUMMIT One Vanderbilt with an awareness of the overall flow of guests through our entrance.
  • Ascertain and resolve Guest concerns, requests, feedback and/or complaints in a timely, courteous, and informed manner escalating guest concerns to management as necessary.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions.
  • Work regular weekly shifts, including days, weekends, holidays, and evening as assigned
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of our box office program through feedback to management and participating in regular team development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or required by management.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for at least 9 hours per shift.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in guest-focused roles in the entertainment, live events, theme park, and hospitality sectors as well as demonstrated expertise in delivering a world-class guest experience.

  • High School Diploma required
  • Previous experience in ticketing selling, cash handling and credit card transaction experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a tourist attraction preferred but not required
  • Maintains a positive attitude and a genuine interest in helping others
  • Able to interact and develop relationships with co-workers, give and receive constructive feedback, contribute ideas and viewpoints, and adapt to changing circumstances and expectations
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a self-motivated, innovative thinker who enjoys working with a diverse team in a highly dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in foreign languages a plus
