Seeking:

[EVAN HANSEN] Male identifying character, 18+ to play 17. Smart, sincere, and painfully self- conscious, Evan prefers to hover in the background, a supporting player in his own life, too afraid to step forward into the spotlight and risk ridicule or, what might be worse, no one noticing him at all. Strong Pop Vocalist, G2-B4.

[ZOE MURPHY] Female identifying character, 18+ to play 16. A sensitive and bright high school junior, Zoe is unaffected by the status games of high school. She grew up in the shadow of her volatile older brother, Connor, and is deeply affected by his out-of-control behavior. Zoe strives to be warm and kind to everyone, often reaching out to those who sit alone at lunch. However, she struggles with conflicting emotions over her brother's death, finding it hard to forgive him for his actions while also feeling relief that he's gone. Strong Pop Vocalist, F3-E5 (belt).

[ALANA BECK] Female identifying character, 18+ to play 17. A diligent, conscientious, straight-A high school senior, Alana is a do-gooder and a rule follower. Her acute self-awareness and social anxiety make it difficult to connect with others. Beneath her extroverted demeanor, she is in fact haunted by a terrible and abiding loneliness. Alana seizes the death of a classmate as an opportunity finally to find a sense of belonging. Strong Pop Vocalist, F3-E5 (belt).

[CONNOR MURPHY] Male identifying character, 18+ to play 17. An angry, disaffected loner, Connor has been a troubled kid for as long as anyone can remember, an enigma and a source of endless consternation to his long-suffering parents. Strong Pop Vocalist, G2-G4.

[JARED KLEINMAN] Male identifying character, 18+ to play 17. Droll and sarcastic, Jared carries himself with the kind of practiced swagger only the deeply insecure can truly pull off. He is forced by his parents to hang out with family friend Evan, for whom he claims to have nothing but disdain. Jared masks his self-doubt with braggadocio and a know-it-all arrogance. Strong Pop Vocalist, A2-B4.

[HEIDI HANSEN] Female identifying character, 40s. Evan’s mother. Overworked and stretched too thin, Heidi loves her son fiercely, but fears they have begun to grow apart. She is prepared to do anything to repair the damage. Strong Pop Vocalist, F3-Eb5 (belt).

[CYNTHIA MURPHY] Female identifying character, 40s. Connor and Zoe’s mother. To Evan, she seems to be the perfect mother, nurturing, available, and willing to talk about anything. To her own children, it’s a bit more complicated. Strong Pop Vocalist, F#3-E5 (belt).

[LARRY MURPHY] Male identifying character, 40s. Connor and Zoe’s father. Though often tense and uncommunicative, Larry shows a different face to the world, representing for Evan the dad he always wished for: strong, confident, and more than anything, reliable, someone to be counted on. Strong Pop Vocalist, F#2-G4.
