DESCRIPTION

Perpetual Wave Productions is looking to add a part-time Production Coordinator to our growing production company. We’re seeking a dependable and motivated creative who’s ready to hit the ground running. This is a great role for a well-rounded entertainment professional who’s looking to get some hands-on experience with a variety of unique projects.

As one of our production coordinators, this role is vital to not only the internal organization and communication of the company, but also making sure that projects remain within budget and scope. Many (but not all) of our clients are in the New York area, and our offices are located in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Therefore we are seeking someone who is in the NYC Metro area at this time. Organization, self-direction, clear and effective communication skills, and creative problem solving will all be invaluable to this role. We’re looking for someone who remains curious on the job, is eager to learn, and happy to teach themselves new skills.

This role is best suited for someone who can take the initiative and self-direct when needed. We’re looking for someone with excellent people skills, as this role will not only work closely with our office staff (including our technical director), but also any clients that they are assigned to. Timely and effective communication with clients, freelancers, and team members is incredibly important. A candidate who is comfortable with minor budgeting, personnel management, and procurement is desired.

Our team is hybrid and works asynchronous hours depending on who is actively in production, so being able to jump into work proactively and continue ongoing tasks is essential. A passion for artistic projects, live events, or theater is highly desirable.

About Us:

Perpetual Wave Productions is a team of creative and experienced technical artisans, designers, and engineers. We excel in the live entertainment and immersive experience industries, as well as providing technical expertise and support for various other industries that have a live event component to them.

From the beginning, with our roots firmly grounded in live theatre, we have understood the power of communicating ideas with technology. We learned how to tell a story, how to make it work in any space, and that the show must go on.

Our core mission is to help create people’s masterpieces, to bring it from rumination to reality, bringing forth the best iteration of what is possible within the means provided and from our continuing dedication to mastery of craft.

Short-Term Goals and Offerings:

Hours are flexible, and great for freelancers or other entertainment-industry folks. As working artists ourselves, we understand that you’ll likely work on other projects in tandem with ours’. Stay communicative and on top of your schedule; knock out mission-critical tasks; and this will be a good position to supplement other income streams.

Long-Term Goals and Offerings:

We are very interested in growing this role with the right team member. Health, Dental, artistic/creative pursuit resources, and other benefits are available to those who are interested in collaborating long-term. We will make our best effort to take your interests into consideration and pair you with opportunities to grow preferred production skills.

Commitments & Expectations:

  • $25/hr+, commensurate with experience. Weeks tend to average 10-20 hours a week with emphasis on Monday and Thursday. Additional hours may be agreed upon on a per-project basis.

  • Upkeep the internal organization of all PWP systems, including but not limited to Google Drive, Knack, project budgets, and client files.

  • Coordinate with clients to assure that all expectations are being not only met, but exceeded.

  • Make sure that projects are remaining within budget and scope, and facilitating conversations to adjust either as needed, including invoicing.

  • Assist PWP’s technical director and other project coordinators as needed.

  • Support the rest of the staff with meeting coordination, email monitoring, and calendar entries.

  • Exhibit a proficient use of the Google Workspace Suite.

  • Experience with Canva or Freshbooks is a plus

  • Utilize excellent communication skills- written, verbal, and interpersonal.

  • Have the ability to learn new systems, softwares, and workflows quickly and effectively to keep up with production pivots.

  • Bring a responsible, self-motivated, and energetic attitude to a team that will be happy to bring you on board.
