Tony nominee Andrew Rannells, who will return to Broadway next season in the eagerly awaited revival of Falsettos, will play himself in the April 10 broadcast of Fox's The Simpsons, which is titled “How Lisa Got Her Marge Back.”
The new episode will be broadcast at 8 PM ET; check local listings.
“After getting into an argument, Marge takes Lisa on a touristy trip to Capital City, where, after attending a musical, they meet the show’s star, Andrew Rannells (guest-voicing as himself), who reminds Lisa how lucky she is to have such a great mom," according to press notes. "Meanwhile, Bart is frustrated that everyone expects his pranks, so he teams up with Maggie to trick people.”
The voice cast includes Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson; Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson; Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson and Nelson; Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson; Hank Azaria as Moe; Harry Shearer as Skinner; Tress MacNeille as Dolph; and Pamela Hayden as Milhouse.
Rannells, who can also be seen on HBO's Girls, was Tony-nominated for his performance in The Book of Mormon.
