The romantic comedy currently plays the Long Wharf Theatre through April 1 and will play Hartford April 5-29. Hartford Stage artistic director Darko Tresnjak directs.

Elliot Norton winner MacCluggage plays Gillian Holroyd, with Eli (Saturn Returns) as Shep Henderson, Williamson (La Cage aux Folles, White Christmas) as Aunt Queenie, Michael Keyloun (Goodspeed's City of Angels) as Nicky Holroyd and Gregor Paslawsky (Long Wharf's Travesties) as Sidney Redlitch.

According to Hartford, "Before there was the popular TV sitcom 'Bewitched,' there was the stylish and funny romantic comedy, Bell, Book and Candle. Shepherd Henderson has the right job. He is engaged to the right girl. Everything in his life is, in fact, right on schedule. Until the night he meets Gillian, a smart and sexy witch. And things go deliciously, uproariously wrong. The mundane meets the miraculous in a bewitching romantic comedy set against the stylish backdrop of mid-1950s Manhattan."

The production has scenic design by Alexander Dodge, costume design by Fabio Toblini, lighting design by Matt Richards and sound design by Lindsay Jones.
